The Leadership Award is presented to a senior executive who has demonstrated exemplary leadership.

Please note that the deadline for submissions has now past. Please see below for the list of recipients.

The Award:

The recipient receives a Leadership Plaque, which is presented at the OANHSS Annual Meeting & Convention. A donation of $500.00 is also made on behalf of the recipient to a charity of his/her choice. The recipient will also receive a complimentary Convention registration and will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation expenses incurred while attending the Convention.

Criteria:

The recipient of this award will be selected for:

Outstanding leadership within his/her own organization.
Commitment and contribution to OANHSS.
Management excellence.

Consideration will be given to accomplishments in other areas such as professional development, community involvement, and participation in related organizations and groups.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for consideration, the candidate must be:

Either a practicing senior executive of an OANHSS member organization or retired within the last year.
A member in good standing of OANHSS.
A member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the three areas specified in the award criteria.

Note:

Candidates nominated in previous years who did not receive the award may be re-nominated using the current submission form.

The current Chair of the Association is not eligible for the award.

Candidates may not make a personal application for the award.

Presentation of this award is contingent upon there being a qualified candidate.

Nominating Procedures:

To be considered for the Leadership Award, the candidate must be nominated by an individual associated with OANHSS. The nomination must have two seconders who are involved in long term care.

Selection Process:

A subcommittee appointed by the OANHSS Board of Directors will select the winner from among the nominations.

Notification and Presentation:

Winners will be notified in advance of the OANHSS Annual Meeting & Convention. The presentation of the awards takes place at the OANHSS Annual Meeting & Convention (click on link for more information).
