Optimizing Nutrition and Hydration Care

(Care and Services)

 

This interactive session will provide nutrition managers, registered dietitians, directors of care and others with tools to optimize nutrition and hydration care. Case studies will be used to explore clinical and foodservice aspects of resident care. You will leave with proven ideas for improving practices and delivering effective nutrition, hydration and dining programs.

 

Objectives:

Leslie Whittington-Carter is the government relations coordinator for Dietitians of Canada, Ontario region and an instructor in the Foods and Nutritional Sciences Program at Brescia University College. She worked previously as a consulting dietitian and as a dietary advisor for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. She is the author of Fingertip Files for RDs and Fingertip Files for Nutrition Care Planning, resources used by dietitians and nutrition managers in long term care.

 

Julie Laing has 16 years of experience in long term care. She is currently the consulting dietitian at Huron Lodge, City of Windsor.

 

Lisa Aube, CSNM, nutrition manager, Township of Osgoode Care Centre, has worked for 22 years in food services.
