Taking Charge of the HR Challenge

(Management and Operations)

 

Recruiting and retaining staff is the ultimate challenge in today’s health care environment. Long term care homes in particular struggle to attract qualified health professionals, especially nurses.

 

Hear about a project that OANHSS and eight member homes are embarking on to pilot innovative nursing health human resource initiatives designed specifically for long term care. A mentoring development program designed for front-line staff and currently in operation in a member home will be featured and discussed.

 

Objectives:

Mentoring Program

Bev Goodman is administrator of Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie.

 

Jane Beamer is dementia resource coordinator for Seniors Services, Niagara Region.

 

A member of the mentorship team will also participate in the presentation.
