Questions about membership? |
Full Members (fee is calculated based on operating expenditure)- are the core, voting members of the Association. Groups qualifying for this category must operate on a not-for-profit basis and provide direct services to seniors. Full membership is organizational which means that all those associated with the organization which has joined (eg. staff, board members, volunteers, consumers) can take advantage of OANHSS products and services. Members in this category include:
Commercial Members (2008 Membership Fees - $495 per year or $250 per year if fewer than 4 employees) - companies (suppliers, consultants, etc.) that provide services and/or products to the long term care sector.Long Term Care Homes - municipal and charitable homes, non-profit nursing homes, chronic care hospitals
Seniors' Housing - government funded and self-funded (e.g. life lease) housing, supportive housing, non-profit retirement homes
Community Service Agencies - provide on-site and outreach services to seniors living independently
Developing Organizations (2008 Membership Fee - flat fee of $750/year for developing facilities and $150/year for developing housing) - groups that are just in the development stage and are not yet incorporated or serving clients (this category receives all the benefits of full membership with the exception of a vote)
