Interested in joining OANHSS?

To join, follow these simple steps:

  1. Review membership categories listed below.
  2. Select an appropriate category and review the detailed list of member benefits.
  3. Complete an on-line membership package request form and submit to OANHSS for processing, or you can download a membership application form (Commercial, Associate and Personal members only) and send it in with your payment.  An information package will be sent to you along with confirmation of your payment.

Full Membership

Full Members are the core, voting members of the Association. Groups qualifying for this category must operate on a not-for-profit basis and provide direct services to seniors. Full membership is organizational which means that all those associated with the organization which has joined (eg. staff, board, volunteers, consumers) can take advantage of OANHSS products and services.

Members in this category include:

  • Long Term Care Homes - municipal and charitable homes, non-profit nursing homes, chronic care hospitals
  • Seniors' Housing - government funded and self-funded (e.g. life lease) housing, supportive housing, non-profit retirement homes
  • Community Service Agencies - provide on-site and outreach services to seniors living independently
  • Developing Organizations - groups that are just in the development stage and are not yet incorporated or serving clients (this category receives all the benefits of full membership with the exception of a vote)

Associate Membership

Associate Members  are generally groups and organizations that are involved in the long term care sector, but do not provide direct service. They include allied professional and provider associations, government offices, educational facilities, and agency head offices.

Commercial Membership

Commercial Members  are companies (suppliers, consultants, etc.) that provide products and/or services to the long term care sector.

Personal Membership

The Personal Member  category is for individuals with an interest in the long term care sector.

* Please note that Personal Members do not quality for the member rate for the OANHSS Administrator Certification Program.


Honourary Members

Honourary Members are individuals who are granted lifetime membership for their dedication to seniors and their contributions to the Association.
